Johnstown Motel

I stay at the Johnstown every time I pass through on a road trip. I'll never stay anywhere else. Roger and Joan are delightful hosts who have gone above and beyond for me and my son more than once. The rooms are comfortable and the location on the river is stunning.

We stayed here on October 3 and 4 , 2025 after having a very pleasant stay here 3 weeks earlier. This time was very different. I called the motel and was told a rate of 100.00 per night. I also requested room 4 facing the river we previously had. After calling I noticed the rate on booking. Com was only 95.00. Upon arrival I asked why the rate difference. The owner was very rude. He said booking charges commission. He needs to charge more. He then said he would honour 95.00 rate. He then said 2 nights will be 247.00. I said that’s not right then he started to yell at me there’s tax you know. You know about tax!!! He finally changed his addition. Then he stuck us in room 9. It was dirty, smoky, small and dingy facing the highway. We had planned on staying here regularly as we have family

The Johnstown Hotel saved my skin. We had been driving all day and everywhere we called was either booked or overpriced. We had a room on the lake side. It was quiet, comfy, very clean, with all the amenities. The property is huge and the view is spectacular. Thank you, Roger & Joan!||Jacqui & Dylan, Montreal

😊: The location by the water with a view of the water was beautiful. A huge yard with a fire pit and gazibo. I felt so homey.. 😢: I DIDNT LIKE THE FACT THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE , WE LOVED IT THERE..

Great motel. Everything is updated and it’s very clean. We had a small room with a king size bed that was clean and comfortable. Shower only with the shower head at about my neck’s height so had to bend a bit to get my hair wet. Had a fridge, coffee maker, microwave and tv. Beautiful bedding. View of the St Laurent for us.
