Jerktail Landing Campground

Beautiful, beautiful place. FREE!! PACK IN/PACK OUT!! I enjoyed the seclusion and privacy. Extremely short walk to the river from my camp. The river is clear and not too deep. Gravel bank to the river, was only myself on. The flies are very horrible. I drove my Saturn SUV. No problems on the 7 mile gravel road. US Park Service personally came to inform me about severe weather coming in. Rained for 3 days. Other than that I WILL RETURN SOON!! Update: It's April 9th-12th, 2023, I finally returned to find lots of renovations to the campground. They have removed lots of trees and bushes for 3 gravel parking pads, 3 lantern post, and 3 fire pits.😩... Not so remote now. Don't get me wrong , it's still a great place to camp, but now your closer to other campers. We had the campground to ourselve

Great spot, it’s secluded with a huge gravel bar to set up campers. Gravel is soft, definitely need front wheel or 4 wheel drive. Nice swimming and fishing holes.

April 2025, I stumbled across this. The road in is 7 miles of gravel, and washed out in a couple of places. Explore first with 4x4 and no trailer, it may or may not be accessible. There is no gate, and the vault toilet has not been pumped in a long time. When I got home and found the web page it says it is closed to repair damage from flooding. There were no gates, not indications of closure on my visit. Camping is scan and pay.

Great float on the Current River to two rivers anytime of the year. These were taken February 2023.

Campsite was great but mdc and the good idea fairy came up with more nonsense. Please explain how I'm supposed to download an app, and then scan a code with that app to pay for camping when there is almost zero cell service in the area? Bring back the paper and cash system. This new thing is just stupid and whoever thought of it should feel stupid. Common sense is dead..... I'd give it one star but the campsite and area were nice.
