Jamestown Motel

I stayed there for 3 weeks over a year ago and had a pleasant stay.

The good: clean, very nice owner The bad: small and cramped with a very old, oversize chair and ottoman that were in the way, bed wasn't horrible...until the mattress fell off the frame, no ventilation, lock on door would be easy to break, had the rent by the hour vibe The ugly: I'm pretty sure this place should be condemned. Cracks in the wall, rust on baseboard, older and dilapidated. We should have stayed in a rest stop.

We stopped here back in June while traveling after a very long driving day, and we needed a motel that had outside entry doors for each room for my disabled mother. We (3 adults) were also travelling with our senior cat, who was in a small carrier. The owner asked if we had pets when we were checking in and I said 1 cat in his carrier and the owner told us that he doesn't accept pets because of damage done to a room in the past. We asked if he could please make an exception and that our cat would be contained and promised no mess or damage. The owner allowed us to stay for the night and gave us the room that had previously had some carpet replacement/small repairs done from pet damage. This is not a place I would stay again. Upon my arrival there was no record of my reservation or that I had a Cat with me. I was informed that they motel did not accept Cats, however the owner graciously allowed the Cat. The room was okay but very basic, to the hotel's credit the refrigerator, microwave and TV appeared new and the bath towels were surprisingly plush. I was taken back at the fact there were no cups or tissues. I did have a pretty good night's sleep which is important. The outside needs work.

Both the room and bathroom were too small, we could barely move around. The beds are hard and I got some of the worst sleep of my life. I slept better in Vietnam.
