Jackson Inn

The room was filthy. Door frame was painted multiple colors, splattered nastiness all over the walls, torn and stained furniture, just not well kept. I ended up sleeping in a camping chair I had in my car because I wouldn't lay on the bed.

Clean cozy basic hotel. Staff was helpful & friendly. Simple breakfast but good quality. Outdoor corridor so it was easy to check in & out. We saw lots of contractor's trucks so we figured it was a good value. Of course they all started their diesel pickups at 6 in the morning but we also needed to get on the road so it wasn't a problem.

I would NOT stay here again. Stopped here overnight and did not have a great experience. We came late at night after calling and ensuring vacancy. With my wife and kids in the car the clerk/caretaker showed me to a room with a door that could not be locked or latched, but ensured me it would be fine to just sleep in and go. The wind could have opened that door. After refusing that room, he showed me to another with a working door. Great. We checked in. There is no breakfast here, that was false or at least outdated advertising. Rooms were serviceable, clean where they have to be, but bugs, cobwebs, water damage, etc in the corners and on walls. This place felt way more like a sketchy 1-star than a 2-star with 4.0 avg reviews. Something was off here and we were happy to leave.

It made my trip more enjoyable than driving the whole 10 hours. We checked in at 2am but felt safe doing so. I was tired and it was very quiet so I went to bed quickly. Rested up a few good hours then back on the road!

I travel for work and this is the right kind of place for that. It has everything I need. It’s clean. The WiFi works well. Fridge with a freezer so I could refreeze my ice packs. I didn’t see an ice machine but I didn’t ask either. All of the rooms are ground level so you can park in front of your room. I didn’t give 5 stars because a few bugs did get in because there was a gap at the bottom of the door. Other than that it was perfect for my needs.
