Island View Resort

Mike and Lisa have turned this beautiful but uncared for family resort into a gem. We rented 4 cabins for 17 people. There is a gathering building for family dinners and cards, fire rings, beautiful sand beach, horseshoes, ping pong, playground set, paddleboard, kayaks, paddleboats,canoes , two long docks , boats to rent and friendly chipmunks.

Awesome place to get away from work. You can relax, fish, hang out on the beach, or whatever. No TV, limited cell phone service, a great place to unplug. Cabins are clean and rustic. Lisa and Karmen are great hosts and are happy to attend their guests needs.

The most wonderful place on earth. Clean cabins, no TV, 800 feet of sand beach between the docks. Great fishing. The kind of resort that used to be common in the past. If you're looking for modern, look elsewhere. If you want a rustic week in the north woods this is the place, if you can get in. Only 10 cabins and the summer fills up fast.

Our family has been coming to Island View since 1991, more than 25 years. We have shared our time with extended family on Sand Lake at Island View and it is the peace and joy that we judge our other vacations. We live in Austin, TX and have for 20 years, the more than 1100 driving miles to get to Island View is always worth it. We have enjoyed our piece of heaven here and Elaine is the BEST of resort keepers. This year brought the next stage of the next generation of kiddos to play in the sand, have parades, share wonderful meals, canoe, kayak and paddle board and enjoy our time in the beautiful North Woods of MN.

The 4 days I spend here each year make the other 361 days of the year survivable. My family has gone to Islandview annually for decades. The fishing on the lake is good, the cabins are built well, and every time we visit some improvement has been made to the already cozy, quality atmosphere. The cabins we get have a few beds and a couch that can be converted into a bed as well (some cabins sleep more than others). The owner (Elaine) is very friendly. Once you start going to this resort, you'll want to go every year.
