Indian Rocks Campground

Great boon-docking site. Road in is in very good shape and ok for any vehicle. About a mile in. Noise from highway wasn’t an issue. Even though relatively close to highway cannot be seen due to landscape. Felt safe. There were 4 others while we were there in June 2025. Cooled off nicely due to elevation. Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved this free camp stop. The traffic noise was very minimal in the spot I stayed. The views where awesome. Only issue was weekends became party time for the young crowd. People wandered at 2 a.m. in other camp spots. One idiot had a large machete hacking tree trunk to impress the girl he was with in broad daylight. From the look on her face, she was far from impressed. Another then the weekend party it was very peaceful and quiet.

Decent camping on BLM, there are some established spots. Some road noise but not bad. Would stop here for a quick overnight camp again.

Looking for a place to overnight we found this spot on google. Nothing special, a dirt road leads you to a old abandoned campground now being run by the BLM. Roughly half a dozen back in spaces around a loop drive. Even though it's just a stone's throw from the interstate the noise level is tolerable. No facilities so its strictly dry camping. We were the only ones here for the night.

You can hear the freeway but it's not too loud. It was peaceful, and beautiful view. Plenty of spots available.
