Idaho Springs Motel

The room was older but clean, great for a short stay. Everything we wanted was within walking distance. The highlight was the seating outside in the back. The stream, mountains, old mine, and goats kept us entertained.

Terrible! Mina (the owner) is a slumlord. Most of the permanent residents are meth heads. On any given night some residents of her hovel can be observed outside ranting and raving, destroying property, making threats of bodily harm, etc. I am a 39 year native of Idaho Springs and know her and her terrible business well...as does law enforcement. Every review that you read regarding her casino problem, bedbugs, and terrible service is absolutely 100% accurate. The Bearadise motel next door has come under newer more accountable ownership, and has been renovated. I highly recommend the Bearadise! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to the Idaho Springs motel, even if I were paid to do so. If I could leave a zero star review, I would. NOT A PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN. We were traveling to Idaho Springs and thought we might need to get a reservation in advance for the night. I called my daughter in Texas to look on the computer and try and find us a room. She found this motel listed and thought it would be ok....wrong!!! When I called to get a room held for us, the lady who spoke broken english told me due to it being a Saturday she would have to charge us in advance. I gave her our credit card info, when we arrived I was shocked to see the most rundown, trashed out dump I had ever experienced. Mobid curiousity made me ask to see the room. I could only open the door to the room and stand on the outside and look in. Apparently the people who wrote bad reviews were expecting to get the Ritz Carlton in prime season for something around 30 per night. Let me tell you what my own experience was: I stayed during early Feburary. It was clear the place had been around a long time. Nothing was new. Still, I was thrilled to get a warm, quiet room, a clean bed, and cable TV for this kind of rate while over the mountain in Frisco, the typical chain motel rooms were pushing 90 to 130 per night, and rooms at Breckenridge or Vail were going for 150 to 250 per night. Idaho springs is a wonderful bath house. Fair prices, friendly staff and perfect selection of temperatures to choose from. ||I was disappointed that when I tried to book a room they claimed they were full but when I arrived to soak they said they did have rooms. So ultimately I did get to stay, but it was stressful.
