Hyde County Lodges

Staying at the Hyde County Lodges was a wonderful experience! The owners are friendly and great, the lodges were spacious and comfortable and the view was incredible. They have a boat launch and a pier to tie up to and plenty of outside storage and a porch swing under the house. The closed in porches with a view were my favorite part of the home!

We stayed here a couple of days while visiting Lake Mattamuskeet and Pungo Lake to view the thousands of winter swans, geese and ducks. Our unit was very comfortable and up to date. The only mild negative was that we occasionally would lose the WiFi connection. The cabins are right on the water and we enjoyed the view and seeing the fishing boats go out in the morning. We look forward to visiting again during the warmer months for fishing and kayaking.

This place is clean, cozy, and incredibly peaceful! I enjoyed the view of the sound, the boats leaving and coming in, and jumping fish. We went fishing on the pier just in front of the cabin. Our host was incredibly nice and accomadating. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my stay. I slept like a baby! I'll be back!

I was with a group of friends cycling through Engelhard and we got a chance to stay at the Hyde County Lodges. We had a great stay. The lodges were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking. The morning sunrise over the river was really pleasant. On top of all that, the host bought us groceries ahead of our arrival and even made our burger patties. Highly recommended if you are in the Engelhard area!

Wonderful! We wanted an experience other than a high rise on a beach so we took a chance. So glad we did! Water way views, private pier, great fishing, wonderful host and hostess, pastoral and ocean views, commercial and private boats travel the water ways, enough to be entertaining, but not a nuisance. The cabin is clean, homey, and feels like a smokey mountain lodge. Screened in porch allows you to take advantage of breeze. Short drive to places of interest. Bald Eagle and other bird life abound. Deers too!
