Huntington State Park Campground

Small campsites near the lake. Unfortunately the lake had Ecoli an algae so not a toe in. Not much grass either. Lots of mosquitos. Restrooms are ok. Not crowded…obviously. A ghost town vibe in August! Maybe it was the 3 days of rain and wind.

Beach is rocky and muddy. No sand to enjoy. Not a lot of shade. Way out of the way. Wind was so bad we could hardly go outside. Maybe we picked a bad weekend. It was pretty, however. Water and power at each site was nice. Camping sites were generous in non pull through sites.

We would come here often to camp and head into the swell. This year all the grass is dead. One of the DNR guys said they cut down about 100 trees. Trenches were numerous for new sprinkler lines. And who puts in PVC pipes anymore? Will be hard pressed to want to come back. Staff was nice.

A nice little tucked away park with fantastic views!
