House At 20 Mile Stream

20 Mile Stream's homeless shelter is my least recommended facility for youth who are struggling. My time there I experienced discrimination, yelling, name calling, accusations, and lack of care from the staff. The shelter can hold up to six girls in the lower part of the house, I was there with one other girl at the time and though we could be a little difficult at times, I can't imagine how they would handle six girls if they can't handle two. The program is supposed to reunite you with families, help with mental illness and living skills and I felt like none of those needs were met. I was not validated when I expressed concerns about a specific staff member and honestly, the facility is just really ran down and not a positive environment. I entered the program at age 16, I was frequentl
