Houlton Riverfront Park

5 star trail - 1 star for the town of Houlton that allows this in the park. Love this hike, ***BUT*** Someone has posted a sign at the start of the trail telling people not to use their walking sticks on the trail and to leave them at the start. They have also put a fake pile of walking sticks, which are nothing more than broken branches, next to the sign. If you are visiting Houlton, rest assured there is no law or ordinance stopping you, or seniors, or the disabled from using a walking stick or cane in town, as that would be discrimination. So do not fear! Use your walking stick or cane and enjoy the hike!

This is a very nice park. The bridge is really something to see. Lots of history to read on the plaques. There is a picnic area at one end of the bridge.

Great Place To Walk, Enjoy Nature Along The Meduxnekeag River. The Yearly River Race Ends At The Riverfront Park Foot Bridge Landing. Neat Little Park, The Nature Walking Trails Along The River Used Year Round. Safe Area, Friendly Walkers. Local History Stations Along The Route. Covered Picnic Tables, Bathroom, Neat Set Up In Connects To Historic Market Square.

I always stop here for a break when heading north to Presque Isle or Caribou. Always clean always quiet. Peaceful, you can here the water running across the rocks in the river. Very scenic

Its clean, it's nice. You could bring the family for a picnic or just come for a walk with your dog. Theres a small playground for younger kids
