Hopwood Motel

If you like or even love nostalgic motels, then this is the place for you!! Well maintained, clean and comfortable beds. The owner is on property and was very nice. It was nice that there were chairs right outside the room for us smokers. Don't expect all the bells and whistles of more modern/newer hotels/motels, there's no breakfast, no pool just a clean comfortable room. Rooms have mini fridge, coffee pot, and microwave. There is wifi however we didn't use it so I can't say how it is, we were there to disconnect and relax and that we did. Would highly recommend. :) Some day I would like to see the old neon sign working again, but that's just me.

If you enjoy the nostalgia of older motels, then this place is for you!! The owner has done a great job keeping up with the maintenance of this little motel. Beds were super comfy, room was spotless and there are chairs right outside of the room for those of us who smoke. I would HIGHLY recommend this motel, don't go in expecting all the bells and whistles of more expensive hotels, but when your road tripping who needs all that fluff? |I would have loved to see the old neon sign working again, but eh that's just me.

I would have given this gem 5 stars except for the temperature variations in my shower this morning: comfortable, freezing cold, near scalding hot, then comfortable again. A kid would have been challenged with the rapid adjustments required. Aside from that one thing, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and care in the room presentation: alarm clock, box of tissues, good in-room coffee, kind staff. More than your average budget motel, for even less than what the chains charge. There’s a pizza place a few steps down the street. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff person was very friendly and helpful. He rounded up a hair dryer for us. Unfortunately, this is the highlight of our stay. We checked the room before renting and based on a quick look, decided to rent. When we got into the room, we noticed a pretty bad smell. There were throw rugs on the floor and as we looked more closely, the carpet was in need of deep cleaning (possibly the source of the odor). We went out and bought Febreez to spray the carpet to try to tamp down the odor. The beds were hard, but the sheets were clean. The bathroom was fairly clean, but I noticed a contact lens stuck to the towel bar and there were a couple of spiders and some microscopic bugs in the tub. I didn't see any signs of bedbugs--I always look for bedbugs when staying in any hotel or motel. I am sor

The staff here are very friendly, accommodating, and never get irritated when asked for items you need during your stay. They do have white comforters and white towels if you request them. The refrigerator in the room is nice size with a small freezer space for ice cream and frozen dinners. Coffee machine in the room comes with k-pods. Microwave. The a/c gets cold enough after a little bit of time. I like the white noise it makes. In our room the a/c unit was in the bathroom with vents that come to bedroom if you close the door for whatever reason. Some things look a bit dated, but clean overall. Any issues were resolved quickly, and without a fuss. No carpet! Thank goodness. The mattress is firm and comfortable. The mattress has a protector to prevent bedbugs. The headboard is made of woo
