We arrived after a flight from Minnesota to Connecticut and a full day of walking around Hartford. This place was home away from home. The hotel was an easy ride from downtown Hartford. We arrived and the front desk attendant was very pleasant and provided several suggestions locally for dinner. Our room was very spacious with a small kitchenette. The bed was comfortable while the pillows provided the right comfort for a good night sleep. We were at the later part of the breakfast crowd, but found the morning variety fresh and appealing to our traveling party. While we did experience a cooler shower the first morning, the shower on Sunday was steaming hot. Great shower heads and pressure by the way. This hotel is in an excellent location; it is close to shops and restaurants along with places of worship. Staff are friendly, respectful and courteous; always helpful as well. The rooms appear suitable and comfortable but definitely show signs of needing consistent maintenance to keep up with people coming and going. Upon arriving we observed some issues with our plumbing and sadly to say had a clogged toilet prior to use. When we called down to facilities they did come right away. However, we noticed similar issues in the public bathrooms available. So don’t think it is a room issue but potentially a maintenance issue with the toilets (hopefully not an overall plumbing issue). We also found a random sock in our room that was not ours so hard to give a 100% certainty that the room was

The first room we were assigned had a really bad smell. Almost fishy. HOWEVER, that staff and maintenance team was FANTASTIC. They understood traveling late at night with young kids is challenging so they let me visit the alternative room before committing to a change to make sure it’d be good for the family, and made key card swaps seamless. After that we had a perfect stay.

Would have given it a 4 but no snacks upon arrival like other Hilton’s and no indoor pool and staff members who rather be on their phones (4) this morning! Room was nice and large, perfect for up to 3 people, nice workstation with plenty of outlets and large TV. Room had everything I needed. Was surprised it had a tub instead of a nice walk in shower, but the full kitchen makes up for it As for service disappointed. 4 staff people this morning fixated on their phones, no engagement, or good morning, and 2 of them looked up just to talk Spanish to another coworker who was on their phone. Didn’t expect that at all Homewood Suite where they usually are very positive. At 8am you’d think there could be a few things for them to do and engage guests.
