Home2 Suites by Hilton Frankenmuth

My family decided to do a staycation at this hotel over Christmas and explore Frankenmuth. First of all, and this is not the hotel's fault, don't bother. Everything in town is closed Xmas eve and Xmas day. Second of all, the hotel didn't really have any signature reason to stay there. It's not really within walking distance to anything, the breakfast was mediocre at best, and the pool, while nice, was just a concrete hole and a few chairs/tables around it. ||The lobby was a sweltering 80 degrees so you really only wanted to stay there for a couple minutes or so. Not a place where you'd want to sit and relax with guests. The pool area as well. If you're not going in the actual pool it's way too hot to hang out around the pool deck. We just did a overnight stay, and I have to say I would highly recommend this hotel. Christina was great at check in and also followed up a few hours after being there to make sure everything was going well. The rooms were very clean, spacious and of course the swimming pool was a perfect area. Checking in and out was a smooth fast process and all staff members were super friendly. Would definitely come back!

Hotel is fresh and new, however, staff need more training at check in. Front desk has zero clue about how the digital check in and digital key request works in the app. The point of using the app and digital key is so you can “skip” the front desk and go straight to your room. When I asked about the bottled water for Diamond Members, I was told the drinking fountain was over by the fitness center. This was corrected when another staff member walked by. The room was extremely noisy with hallway noise and every door opening and closing. Every conversation in the hallway could be clearly heard as if the people were in the room with you. The room was spacious, however, for some reason a constant blinking bright light in the smoke detector was placed in direct view of the bed which kept waking

Twice a year, I come to this area for an event. Typically, I stay at the Hampton Inn in Birch Run but this time, I decided to try this Home2 Suites. This Home2 Suites is new so as one would expect, everything looks really nice and is in great condition. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The location is great for many of the things for which people typically visit Frankenmuth. You could even walk to some of the attractions. As is the case with most of the Hilton brands, Home2 Suites offers a breakfast included in the cost of your room. I found this breakfast to be fine but I like the selection of items better at the Hampton Inn in Birch Run. This was our first time staying in Home2 suites and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is new and I sort of expected some new hotel issues. Other than a very slow check-in everything was great. As it is new everything was clean. The bed was firm and all the amenities were working and in place. The breakfast was free and had a good selection and was tasty. Other than the aforementioned check-in slowness everyone was friendly and seemed to know their job function. The location is a little off the beaten path but since most people drive here that isn't a real issue. Actually it would be a nice stroll in good weather. I would have no issues staying at this Home2 suites hotel again.
