Holiday Inn Plainview-Long Island by IHG

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Plainview–Long Island for business travel and had an excellent experience, largely thanks to the outstanding service at the front desk. The hotel has been nicely renovated, and our room was very clean and comfortable. We arrived very early, fully aware that our room wouldn’t be ready yet, but Francisco at the reception area went above and beyond to accommodate us as best as possible. From the moment we arrived, he was very friendly, professional, and consistently attentive to our needs. His excellent service truly made a difference and made our stay much more pleasant. I would absolutely stay here again for my next business trip.

We were in town to watch college club hockey games at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. ||The Holiday Inn had nice sized rooms - quiet, clean, and comfortable. The shining star, however, was front desk manager, Patrick. He saw my son in the lobby attaching new toe straps to his goalie pads and offered help. Patrick found tape and pliers and used his ingenuity to feed the thick elastic through the tiny grommets to help restore the goalie pads to working order.||Thank you Patrick for going above and beyond. We highly recommend this hotel to other USMMA families as it is approximately 30 minutes from campus and has amazing service.

Positive: The room is clean and well furnished: refrigerator, microwave, iron, and ironing board. The free 24/7 custom coffee maker in the lobby was superb, along with all the facilities in the hotel Negative: It is somewhat far from cities like Flushing, Brooklyn, etc. Driving takes too long.

Stayed here during a snowstorm due to the location. I gave it 5 stars simply for the wonderful staff they have working here. Yes, the hotel could use some room renovations, but for the purpose of a quick two-day stay, it was perfect. As other reviews have mentioned, there are no windows to the outside in any of the rooms, the walls are thin and I heard people walking in the hall (though I didn’t hear my neighbors), the plumbing and heat were a little loud when they came on, and the beds are very soft, old, and noisy when you move. That said, it was adequate for what I needed. The noise didn’t keep me awake, and I slept fine. I would 100% stay here again and would definitely recommend it to others. I actually had a great time. They have "quiet time" from 9pm-6am, which is good. Two things that need work: 1. Beds! Specifically the bed frame. I just wanted to sleep and the beds were noisy anytime I made a slight move. 2. Plumbing. Also excessively noisy. We knew when ANYONE in our room's vicinity flushed a toilet or ran the shower. Seems as if the walls have poor insulation or something. Other than that, location is very clean and in a very good location right off the highway.
