Holiday Inn Express & Suites White Haven - Poconos by IHG

Very good hotel overall (7.7/10). Stayed 3 nights in April. Nice, good sized room. The room had a standard layout but with a very good use of space. Everything worked as it should. Very comfy bed. Bathroom was a good size. Shower was good, but the water pressure is just ok. Walls are thin, but getting a room facing the parking lot will help to reduce the highway noise. Breakfast was very good (for context, I'm satisfied with a bowl of cereal or some toast). Despite having prepaid the booking I was charged again, but this was rectified. Very nice location, and one that works well as a base for Jim Thorpe and the surrounding area. There are some walkable food options but for part at least you'll be walking on the shoulder of the road as there are no sidewalks. I would definitely

The cleaning crew uses a very strong smelling cleaning product. The smell when we opened our room door was assaulting. We had to leave the windows wide open for over an hour in order to be in the room without an allergic reaction. Even then the smell lingered so we left the window open all night. Maybe the scent is being used to mask some other smell. Bathroom floor was sticky, (assumably from the cleaning product) and not clean. Lots of hair on the floor from previous guest. Bedroom spacious, and convenient to highway.

Nighttime front desk lady was very pleasant. We popped in around 10pm looking for a place to land for the night. Room was very clean. Morning breakfast was good. Definitely recommend this hotel if you're wanted a place just outside of the expensive Poconos resorts.

Good, clean rooms with newer furniture and fixtures. Only downside was the HVAC system which cycles on and off. I'm sure there was a way to stop that while continuing to maintain the desired temperature, but I didn't know how to do that.

Positive: Close to everywhere we went. Friendly and helpful staff Negative: No fan to eliminate sounds in bathroom. Had to ask for more towels and toilet paper. Heard 18 wheelers from highway all night.
