Holiday Inn Express & Suites N. Myrtle Beach-Little River

Upon check in I was greeted by the front desk manager Shanice who was so sweet and professional. During our conversation I told her we were in town for a few days to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. She proceeded to upgrade our room to a King Suite in honor of our wedding anniversary. How sweet of her to do such a lovely gesture for us. The room was wonderful, spacious, cozy and clean. I also asked her for a recommendation for dinner as we had been traveling all day and she suggested Clark's which was right next door and dinner was delicious. What a wonderful asset to this IHG family. We will definitely be back.

I would give this hotel zero stars if I could. I booked a room for Saturday night through a third-party site, and my experience was absolutely unacceptable. When I arrived, the first room I was given had severe mold and mildew damage—the kind of condition that is a health hazard, not something you expect at a Holiday Inn Express. I returned to the desk and was assigned a second room. When I opened the door, there were candy wrappers on the floor, the bed was unmade, and it was clearly already occupied. When I went back down again, the front desk staff insisted the room wasn’t occupied and offered to “just change the sheets.” That is not a solution, nor is it anywhere close to proper cleaning or sanitizing a guest room. Positive: The staff was excellent. Very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was great and the dining area overlooked the river which was a bonus. Negative: The only "issue" was our hand soap needed a refill but I was able to get that taken care of.

Nightmare hotel, avoid at all costs. Unfortunate because the view in the back is decent, this is by far the worst thing in this area now. We check in and enter our room, and as many of these reviews state, we're greeted with the smell of mold and mildew. Look out our balcony and see this beautiful harbor view... right next to their pool which is still full and completely green (standing water). It smelled like poop. Cinder blocks, trash, and weeds growing on roof. Window shades torn up. At this point we're questioning the hotel but we decide to stay, as we like the area. I was walking some of our stuff up the stairs, and I notice huge stains in the stairwell walls from leaking rusty water pipes. They even had a towel in the corner to soak some up. While we were checking in, another guest came to the front desk. I overheard the conversation with the attendant and the person was requesting a room change for the second time due to an odor in the room. We got to the suite and noticed a really bad smell in our room. We noticed areas of water damage in both the main area as well as the bedroom. There was a dehumidifier in the room so we plugged it in and turned it on which helped a little. It pulled a lot of water out of the room that evening and again during the night. The next day we left it running but when we returned, maintenance had removed it from the room. They left a note informing us that maintenance would be done to the room the next day as early as 10 am which is prior to the required check out time. We questioned the person
