Holiday Inn Express & Suites Montgomery by IHG

The location near 84 was perfect. The staff was welcoming. Check out easy. Our room was quiet. |A negative we had which we did not reflect in the rating was the shower stall could have been cleaner… I was able to clean some small amounts of mold from the grout with the washcloth after my shower!|Disappointed that the pancake machine was broken but the cinnamon buns are always great!|The village of Montgomery was quaint |and we had a good meal in an Irish pub.

Room was decently clean but had a mildew smell. We booked with this hotel specifically to have a pool for the kids. We were not informed that the pool heater was not functioning so it was ultimately unusable. Was told by the manager that he could offer 20 percent off on a future stay but when I called to take him up on that for our next visit he was only able to match their online price (from Holiday inns own website) and could not in fact offer us the discount previously mentioned. The pancake machine also did not work for breakfast.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I was partly dissatisfied with my stay, mainly from the terrible shower head, lack of attention to detail while cleaning, and stained sheet on the bed. We also had a fire alarm emergency due to another guest who stupidly microwaved a McDonald’s wrapper, but I’m grateful for the quick response of the local emergency services. Standing in the cold night was not fun. But better safe than sorry. Pros: amenities were excellent (breakfast, drinks, laundry, parking). I’ve emailed the general manager last week and hope to get a response to my concerns.

We spent 2 nights here so that we could attend an event at Angry Orchard. We were extremely impressed by the staff most of all. They obviously take pride in their work. They all appear to get along and work well as a team. They were friendly and attentive to the guests' needs, especially in the breakfast area. Our room was clean and comfortable (aside from a broken hand soap pump, an easy fix). I loved the presence of large refillable toiletries rather than the tiny bottles and soaps. So much easier to use and better for the environment! As a Rewards member I appreciated the late checkout. Our only issues were the TV in the fitness center (even with assistance from the front desk, we could not change the channel from Spectrum), the pancake station (out of order), and the coffee in the lobb

This is a typical older HI Express. It was mostly clean, but has some maintenance issues. Doesn't necessarily need a full remodel, just replacement of some worn out and broken furnishings. The shower water didn't drain well either...became more of a shower/bath. If you like really firm beds, you'll sleep well here.
