I am truly thinking that maybe these other reviews are not "accurate" as I have experienced by far the worst hotel experience at this hotel. I booked this hotel based on the positive reviews on Google. Boy was I shocked when I arrived and there was no parking available. Had to park offsite and pray that my car would still be there in the morning. My family reserved two rooms, and were given 212 and 230. I stayed in 212 and I have never smelled such a thick and putrid smell of what I could only describe as urine. There were yellow splatter stains on the walls, literally every wall had some sort of splatter on it. I was completely grossed out. I went to check how my dad was doing in his room (230) and the smell was more of a chemical smell, when we lifted the mattress we found bed bugs. Some
Positive: The hotel was getting renovated. The pool was closed, no ice in the hotel, my kids cried every time we got into the elevator. The elevator made a terrible sound and the stairs were blocked off. Negative: We booked this room for the pool and had no idea it was closed. We would have stayed elsewhere if we knew.
All said, this was a good place to stay. They are in the middle of a remodel, but the crew was out of there shortly after 6, so there wasn't much of an inconvenience. My room was clean, so good job on housekeeping.
Overall pretty good hotel. Seems pretty expensive for area. (Maybe hunting season?) Gave a 3 because of 8 am door knock wondering when we were checking out. I had read this in another review and thought surely they don’t do that? Didn’t have “Do not disturb” sign up so don’t know if that would have made a difference or not. I would have been really unhappy if we had still been sleepy. Management needs to do away with this policy
This was always a better than average hotel and hopefully it will be again after the current renovation. They haven’t done the best job dealing with the changes. The first floor ice machine is still accessible but is covered in dust - at least wipe it down if you’re going to allow access. The “grab and go” breakfast is various forms of bread - very disappointing. The ice machine is missing from the second floor. One more thing unrelated to the renovation that has always been disappointing about this place is the terrible parking. It feels like they built the hotel and then at the end said to themselves “Oh I guess we need parking.”
