Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kings Mountain - Shelby Area by IHG

My husband and I were traveling for his work and spent 2 weeks at this very comfortable hotel. The cleanliness was beyond excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, responding quickly to any need. Breakfast was much better than most hotels, prepared each morning hot and fresh with many choices. If we are back in this area again we will definitely stay here again.

Staff was nice but that is the only positive to take from this hotel. The rooms were disgusting. The first thing that greets you is a strong odor that will turn your stomach. I gagged the second I walked into my room. The A/C barely worked if it worked at all. The room was so humid that the tile in the bathroom was like an ice skating rink. The bathroom was disgusting as well. Little debris, stains and mold covered it. This hotel is disgusting. I would sleep in my car before I slept here again.

It was a good hotel to stop and stay at for a few nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was quite beat up especially in the bathroom that needs some maintenance. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Didn’t try the breakfast but the coffee was good.

I travel a lot and always stay at Holiday Inn Express or any IHG hotel when available. The mattress was far from comfortable. There is no excuse for an IHG property to have such saggy, worn out mattresses. Housekeeping is not great either. Microwave has burn places in it. After my shower the water ran all the way to the room door. I set the trash outside my door only to have it sit there for 2 days. This hotel is in need of some love, attention and updates.
