Comfort Inn Kings Mountain

The front desk was very polite and helpful, the continental breakfast were above average but the room was below average. There were bugs mainly in the bathroom. It was fairly clean aside from the paint speckles and paint streaks in places where there shouldn't have been paint. The room looked like a "fixer-upper". I'm definitely not one to complain but it was pretty bad. The price was good but I don't think I will be staying at this hotel anymore. Oh, the housekeeping staff were very friendly..

They need to update their name to the “Discomfort Inn.” DO NOT BELIEVE THE PHOTOS. The rooms look absolutely NOTHING like the pictures, the entire first floor smelled like wet dogs and cigarettes. The entire place had a dingy dirty smell to it. Truly I should have turned my family around and left when we found out the refrigerator in our first room didn’t work. (This room had a smashed roach in the middle of the floor as soon as you walked in, definitely had not been swept/mopped/vacuumed anytime recently) They did quickly get us a new room, unfortunately this one wasn’t much better. The windows probably have never been cleaned, I actually used water and a rag to check this and sincerely just wish I had not. Positive: Nothing Negative: One of the worst experiences I've had. We got to our room late & there was a bug bomb (chemicals in a can) in the middle of the floor, used cups & sugar packets lying on the desk & dead roaches in the tub. The smell was so overwhelming.

This is a clear and firm review you can post: ⸻ I checked in at 7:00 PM on February 25, and the front desk employee named Starr was very rude. She did not greet me. She asked my name in a harsh way. Then she left the front desk to go eat. When she came back, she was still chewing food while speaking to me. Her attitude was unprofessional, and she gave me unfriendly looks. I was polite and greeted her first. I only came to check in. I did nothing wrong. This was very disappointing. I will not return to this hotel again.

The woman who checked us in was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel and rooms are quite run down. Our room was spacious and sort of clean. The floor definitely needed sweep and mopped. I would not walk bare feet on floor. Bed was very comfortable and towels were soft and fluffy. Overall hotel met our needs for the night but I do not think I would stay again if ever in the area.
