Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ft Myers Beach-Sanibel Gateway by IHG

Nice clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was large and comfortable. Only issue was the very soft mattresses, which are tough for anyone with back issues. Other than that a very nice stay while visiting Fort Meyers area. Also there is a shuttle bus right next to the hotel which takes you to Crescent Beach for 75 cents. We really liked that, not having to deal with traffic and parking at the beach. It's also walkable to a nearby Walmart and a nice restaurant, the Sunshine Cafe.

Positive: The hotel was clean and very well laid out. The breakfast was very good with many options. Negative: I did not like their room cleaning. No one swept the floors during our entire 7 day stay. Most of the time the towels were replaced. They did not provide any makeup remover wipes after the first day. Their policy is to clean after 5 days (?) for privacy.

Before arriving at the hotel, I noticed that the hotel had already placed a hold on my AMEX credit card for the deposit plus the cost of the room. When I arrived at the hotel that evening to check in, I encountered the front desk representative named Nakita. This hotel employee was immediately hostile as soon as I approached the counter, displaying a very bad attitude, quite unprofessional, and clearly unwilling to work. I gave her my last name to begin the check-in process, and immediately informed her that the hotel had already placed a hold on the total amount on my Amex credit card, but that I wanted to change cards and use my Travel Rewards credit card instead. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is quiet and clean. The room was good size with a comfortable king bed. The breakfast was great with plenty of variety even for the pickiest eaters. The one and only complaint we had is that the water pressure is very low but that will not deter us from coming back because all else was GREAT! We highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful hotel with pristine furnishings! Room is spacious, bed comfortable upscale coffee maker in room. Breakfast has a lot of options in a large dining area. The hotel was convenient to everything, especially the beach. There is a beach bus depot next door to take you to the beach and save the parking hassle! I highly recommend this hotel!
