Holiday Inn Express & Suites Conover (Hickory Area) by IHG

My company booked the room for me, but they had no idea they put me in the perfect hotel for me and my service dog Grover! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They have the absolute perfect place to take Grover beside the hotel. It’s a beautiful grassy area fenced so I could let him wander. The breakfast was always hot and tasty. They even had cookies in the evening for the guests. The room was big and very clean. It was a nice hotel to lay your head and relax. |If you ever have occasion to visit this area, you would be smart to stay here.

During my recent business trip, I experienced a situation that made me feel uneasy about my room. When I brought it to the front desk’s attention, Coleman immediately took my concern seriously and went above and beyond to ensure I felt safe and comfortable. His calm, respectful, and proactive approach truly stood out. It’s rare to encounter someone who genuinely listens and takes action with such integrity and care. I’m so grateful for how he handled the situation — Coleman is an excellent example of true hospitality.

We took refuge due to the intent snow storm recently while making a journey from Nj to Georgia. The North Carolina state doesn’t have proper snow cleaning process and our car was getting major hit by snow covered roads. We checked in hurriedly as the brand name says it all. We also got complementary breakfast next morning. It’s very rightly located and also has a Mexican restaurant just next door. Which saved our day for getting immediate lunch and dinner packed.

Ĺexi at the front desk went out of her way to make my stay very enjoyable. I made a small comment about how busy they must be since I had to reserve a two queen-bed room but prefer one king bed instead. She was listening and said "Let me see what I can do ". And then she made it happen. She didn't have to...she just did it. Lexi was friendly, polite, fun and very helpful. Honestly, I usually don't stay at IHG properties but I will definitely stay here next time I'm in the Hickory/Conover area. This one hotel and one employee totally changed my perception. Great job!!

My stay at this hotel was unpleasant. I was very disappointed from the start because when I got there to check in I was not informed that my room had been changed. I was checked in, given my room key, and when I went to check on the room I was given a king room suite that was dirty, and looked like it had some water damage instead of the double queen suite that I reserved months earlier. I went back to the front desk and was told that they were double booked and someone switched my room. I should have received a call or something in advance but did not so I thought that was terrible. Then they offered a regular queen double bed room which was nasty. Both rooms had an odor, spiders, centipedes, dust, and was just overall nasty.
