Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbus - New Albany by IHG

Stayed Valentine’s Day Eve in this nifty hotel. The location is great off SR 161. It’s a newer hotel, and still has that feel and smell. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. It was also well insulated as you could not hear activity in other rooms (which was fantastic given the date we stayed…😉). The bathroom was also immaculately clean. My only issue was that the restrooms on the first floor are single stall. I had just got off the road when we checked in and needed to use it really urgently. I checked in and went to use it and it was taken by one of the contractors. So I decided to just go to my room and use the restroom there. I went to park and grab my bags. Trip.com claimed there was no way to send an itemized receipt, so my entire work trip was non-refundable through my employer. Great holiday gift to me! (sarcastic)A cherry on top is the support team refusing to help or offer any additional information to help me get the trip reimbursed. I suppose there are better things in life than a heated house, warm meals for my family, and clothes to keep us safe from the elements, but as long as a third party is involved, no itemizations or accountability to that need are made to consumers like me! 0 out of 10! :D

We stayed at this hotel for over a month for work, and two staff members truly made our experience unforgettable — Margie and Dean. Margie was always the first smiling face we saw. She made us feel less like guests and more like family. Every morning during breakfast she would come over just to speak to us and check in, which meant so much during a long stay away from home. Whenever we had packages delivered, she immediately called our room to let us know — such a small detail, but it showed how attentive and thoughtful she is. My husband is currently working in New Albany so we spent an overnight trip at this hotel. It was beautiful clean and service was amazing. Such a friendly front desk clerk. room was great for our family. most of all the bed was the most comfortable bed that I’ve ever laid on. Does anyone know what type of bed this was? I forgot to look before I left.

All I have to say is that whatever issues that I've read on the other reviews have obviously been fixed. I had hot water in my room, lots of pressure, my TV had tons of channels, the staff (especially the manager who was greeting everyone in the lobby most of the time I walked through) were all top-notch. I stay at a lot of hotels, and usually stay at the Courtyard in New Albany, and I can say that this was by-far one of my favorites. Now, the pool water was a little cold, but everything else was perfect. Breakfast was unlike any heat-and-serve hotel breakfast I've ever had, and the guy serving it (Dan I think) was delightful.
