Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cherokee/Casino by IHG

Upon arrival, the front desk experience was disappointing. The older lady who handled check-in was not friendly or showing any empathy at all. She had a problem accessing the system for some reason and completely ignored us for 10–15 minutes without explaining anything. She seemed irritated by our questions about the wait time, as she had not said anything initially nor assured us that she was working on fixing the problem. She then called the manager to address the issues. After some time, we received the keys without so much as a "sorry for the delay" or "have a nice day" — as if we weren't even there. She showed the same attitude toward another couple who came in to ask something. The room was clean overall, however the bathroom floor had very old, dirty grout, and the toilet had a crac

Positive: Friendly staff...helpful. Negative: The breakfast was ok. The plasticware made it hard 2 eat. Cheap plasticware.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel while in Cherokee. We were welcomed as IHG members. An easy check in. Clean comfortable rooms. A great breakfast area. Plenty of parking. Directly across the street from Harrah's casino. Easy check out.

Arrived at 2:30 PM and was told check-in was at 3 PM, which was fine. At 3 PM I was told no clean rooms were available, yet other guests were checked in shortly afterward. I even offered to pay for an upgrade but was told the hotel was sold out. After waiting longer, they suddenly said they could check me in. The process felt inconsistent and frustrating. Checkout was also uncomfortable. Housekeeping tried to enter our room at 9:30 AM and again at 10 AM, even though checkout wasn’t until 11 AM. The room itself was outdated and in need of renovation. I travel often and have had much better experiences at nearby hotels like the Fairfield and Cherokee Smoky Inn. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet expectations.

The check-in guy (Michael, I believe) was awesome, accommodated us as a late night walk in, super friendly and helpful. Buuuttt....the room was not it. Mold on the windows and the bathroom. Spider webs across the windows and torn curtains. The shower has a trick to turn on which is what the fro t desk lady said the next day. The bedding was clean and fresh but the laminate floor and bathroom tile were sticky.
