Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bryan - College Station by IHG

Overall, a good hotel that I've stayed at before for work trips. I'll stay here again. However, I had one rough experience last time I stayed. A few days after we had icy weather here in Texas, a coworker and I rolled in at 10pm-ish, had to wait a long time at the front desk for someone to show up. Like, over 15 minutes, and when I called the hotel no one picked up and we heard the phone ring from behind the desk. When someone finally arrived, they said they were busy changing the thermostats on the 3rd floor. Well, I was given a room on the 3rd floor, and the thermostat wasn't changed. It was on cooling still. So I changed it to heat at 75 and it took forever to get the room to a decent temperature. I forget what it was initially but in my picture I had it at 52F. I called the day before to ask if the standard room doorways would be wheelchair accessible, as my husband uses a wheelchair and the website showed no accessible rooms available. I didn’t want to assume a standard bathroom door would be wide enough, since we had done that once at a different hotel chain and the door was too narrow. I spoke with Veronica, who was working the desk. As it turned out, a third floor accessible room was actually available and she booked us over the phone. Veronica understood my concern and made certain our needs were met. She was very helpful, courteous and professional. Clean almost brand new IHG Holiday Inn Express. Hotel was almost new. Public areas and room was clean and everything working properly. Double screen on the room windows so it was very dark while sleeping. During check-in and checkout, front office person greeted us and they were smiling. Breakfast was standard IHG Holiday Inn Express breakfast, nothing was missing. Everything was hot and delicious. Coffee was great, I stayed to many times on IHG Holiday Express hotels, but I saw first time this kind of coffee machine, which was grinding from coffee beans and prepares hot coffee. There were two coffee machines so there was no wait time. Location is good, not far away from center and shopping places and not noisy. Parking lot is very lit and looks safe. What a stay! I hate that I didn't get the name of the young ladies who checked us in and out. They were both awesome! The way you're greeted at a hotel sets the tone. And just because we're on our way out doesn't mean the experience is over. Kudos to a top tier team. The rooms are quiet, well designed and spacious. There are plenty of USB ports and outlets. The chaise in our room was perfect for late night reading. This is a great location. Not close to the road so fairly quiet. There's special parking for IHG members, and plenty of accessible parking too. There's complimentary breakfast, a petite business center, and room to lounge. We'll definitely consider staying here again.

Positive: It was clean and staff was very friendly Negative: Oatmeal was watery and there needs to be more than one toaster. Other than that I loved it!
