Holiday Inn Express & Suites Altus by IHG

We spent one night in a King suite and it was a good stay. The young man at the front desk who checked us in was friendly and professional. The hallway on the 4th floor outside our room smelled amazing! Our room was clean. The furnishings were a little worn, but functional. The iron and the hair dryer were both really nice. Breakfast was good, not great. We would stay here again.

Positive: Everything was clean and felt comfortable Negative: This isn’t a big concern but the breakfast only had egg items with cheese in it, and it would have been nice to have an option without due to allergies but that’s really just a picky small complaint! Highly recommend staying here.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was much larger than we expected, bed and pillows were super comfortable, room was very clean. Breakfast was very good and had plenty of options, the pancakes were good but we were hoping for some waffles. The lady fixing the food was friendly and asked if everything was good and if we needed anything else. Housekeeping asked how our stay was and was our room clean enough. We used the pool once, it was a good size and comfortable temperature. Overall we had a great stay.

The night staff is amazing! That kid at the front desk is very professional. The morning crew tho. The breakfast has definitely most definitely suffered as far as quality and the old lady serving the food wouldn’t stop sharing her political opinions. It’s 7 in the morning and the last thing I want to hear is the political opinions of a stranger while TRYING to enjoy a very mediocre breakfast. I ended up throwing it all away. This was one of my favorite places to stop on the past 2 years.

I stay here quarterly for work. When I first stayed here I had problems with staff and service. But, the last year and a half, they've been great. It also might be the only hotel that doesn't have bed bugs in Altus. It's close to base, so TDY access to the base is nice. It's sort of close to restaurants, but not walking distance like the other hotels. I would recommend the "Bait Shop" for a burger. "Second Breakfast" for a nice sandwich-bistro experience. Fred's for a chicken fried steak dinner. The Backdoor for a decent steak--For the price, it's a bit high, but it's the only nice place in the area. Recommend Trader Tom's for karaoke in Saturdays. Breakfast is decent with a dollar pancake maker and good service. No waffles.
