Holcroft On Hudson

An incredible home with incredible hosts, this is the best Airbnb we've ever stayed at. We would usually be very hesitant to rent a room of a home, but the weekend spent at Holcroft changed that. Ruthanna and Julian were more than welcoming, sharing immense knowledge of the history of the home and area, providing recommendations, letting us join them by the fire on the chilly night we arrived, and for a cup of coffee in the mornings. They gave us plenty of time to explore the home on our own, cook in the kitchen, and space to do as we pleased. We could not recommend staying here enough... Holcroft is truly a journey into a world of its own.

I stayed at the Holcroft House during my wedding weekend in September, and it was nothing short of magical. The home is stunning - full of charm and character - and feels like a romantic step back in time. Nestled along the Hudson River, the views from the property are absolutely breathtaking. Ruthanna went above and beyond to accommodate our every need, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. I truly can't imagine a more perfect place to get ready for such a special event. The Holcroft House now holds such a special place in our hearts, and my husband and I can't wait to return in the future.

I will never forget my experience at Holcroft House. My hosts Ruthanna and Julian were the most gracious people. I loved stepping back into history there. The view of the Hudson spread out below and the gorgeous Catskill mountains is somehow stirring and serene. As a lover of history and art I was thrilled to tour the house and then all the local sites. It was one of those perfect fall weekends for our stay and everything just felt like magic. I can’t say enough.

On a picturesque rise above the Hudson River, Holcroft is just far enough from the main road to be both convenient and secluded. It is a grand brick mansion with a deep history, comfortably spacious rooms, many with fireplaces, a modern kitchen, and down-to-earth owners. It proved to be one of the most relaxing and peaceful retreats I have ever been lucky enough to enjoy.

We had a wonderful experience at Holcroft on the Hudson. We were attending my son’s wedding at “A Private Estate” and this was the perfect place for our large group to stay. The historic charm was second to none. The setting and scenery was spectacular and made this special weekend so much better. Ruthanna is great host and very responsive. She even mailed us a few items one of our group left in her closet.
