Historic Hotel Broadalbin + 1854 Pub Restaurant + Bar

If I could give 10 stars I would. I came into town for 2 nights to take a class at the hospital nearby. I prefer family owned places if I can find them as you just dont get the same type of hospitality at a chain hotel. This hotel is just beautiful/historical and spotless. If you ever stayed at the Surf Inn back in the day on Block Island, this hotel has the same vibe inside/decor. The attached restaurant had amazing food as well. It was great after a long day sitting through class to be able to drive back and just walk down a flight of stairs for dinner. I didn't spend much time around the area as I was there only to attend a class. If I return for any additional classes I will stay here again for sure.

Once I realized it was a hotel as well, I booked the room based on others reviews being so positive. ||I prefer family owned places over chain hotels. The decor is gorgeous in the hotel and restaurant. If you have ever stayed at the Surf Inn on Block Island back in the day, the decor here reminded me of the Surf. ||I stayed in room 1, beautifully decorated and perfect size for me. Plenty of parking in the back of the building. Thank goodness they had WiFi as well as I was there during the Verizon outage. ||If I come back to the area for any additional classes at the hospital,

I look forward to my stay at this hotel each winter to visit Lapland for cross country skiing. the rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable. The bar and restaurant is excellent. The owners have done a fantastic job keeping the old and historic charm. I can't wait to come back soon

We stayed in Room 3 (Adirondack queen room) a couple weeks ago, visiting friends, and we were so pleased with our stay! The room was cozy, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom was large and clean. I loved to hear the church bells starting at 8am - it sounded like a small European village. The food at the pub was also so homey and perfect for a cold night (the turkey and meatloaf dinners especially!). Thank you to our kind hosts for exceeding our expectations. Oh, and we did not experience any paranormal activity lol Apparently this hotel is on the haunted trail for NYS haha

Super cozy and very nicely maintained This historic inn is super nice and well maintained. The Thompsons are doing a great job honoring the building and keeping the space comfortable for guests. The furniture and bedding are very comfortable. Had food and drinks in the tavern, it was such a cozy space. Definitely would come back.
