Customer Reviews
Pikes Peak was amazing until we attempted to stop here for food. The lady at the register basically refused to make food for my kids and I because it would “take too long”. “Atleast 15 minutes”. Unfortunately spoiled the experience for us and when I walked back inside 5 minutes later there was a gentleman who works there eating a nice fresh burger and fries. All we wanted was a couple hot dogs and a burger.
Had to stop here to let my brakes cool. Ample parking. Bathrooms, souvenir shop, and small cafe. Beware of old people driving in front of you, you’ll be frequently braking which will cause your brakes to heat up faster.
They will check the temperature of your brakes on the way down here. If they are over 300 degrees, you will have to pull off into a parking spot and open your hood for a while until your brakes cool off. As for the visitor's center, it has neat, informative panels outside telling about the history of the race and the mountain. The views are picturesque outside of the visitor's center. You can get food inside the visitor's center. The bathrooms are ok, but nothing to write home about.
The place is fantastic. Customer service is awful. My family was asking the employee “Rosemary” a question, but due to them not knowing English too well, ROSEMARY started raising her voice at my family members. I rushed from the other side of the store to see what was occurring, and my family members informed me. I told Rosemary they were asking her a question, to which she replied with a rude tone, I know. Not only was she vulgar to them, but to my son as well. Everything was perfect except that interaction with ROSEMARY
It has a little cafe and a nice break stop on your drive up. Unfortunately the gift shop was super expensive so I didn't end up purchasing anything. Employees were kind of doing their own thing talking to themselves in a corner. Cute little place.
