Historic Buxton Inn

We stayed at the Buxton Inn because of its haunted history. Rooms 7 and 9 were reported to have the most experiences. We requested room either room and had no issues with getting on. The staff were light hearted, fun and knowledgeable about the haunted history. It was nice. The hotel itself is really pretty and nostalgic. The rooms were really big with an updated bathroom. The beds were really REALLY tall and hard to get into. All in all, really great experience, highly recommend.

The Inn was beautiful, but we only had one problem. I have asthma and lung issues so asked that no scents be used in the room or linens. Unfortunately, the linens were saturated in scent and I was unable to sleep at night. Everything else was excellent! Just be aware that there is something used in the laundry process with scent.

If you are into historical settings, this place is for you. If not, turn and run. Understanding that this Inn is the oldest in the state of Ohio, but it is in SERIOUS need of repair! When we checked in, we stood and waited for several minutes for someone to come to the desk to check us in. I finally called the hotel number so someone would come to the front desk. The clerk was very congenial though. We stayed in the raspberry suite for 1 night. The bathroom floor has a soft spot and is being held together in one area by the vinyl flooring over top, the area rug has several stains , and the heating system was not working properly. The “continental breakfast” was nil to none. The only positive was the bedding was VERY soft!

I had one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences with the Buxton Inn. I booked my stay through Expedia and at no point was I made aware of their ridiculous 9 PM check-in cutoff. My flight was delayed, forcing me to rebook at the last minute, and I still made every effort to arrive as early as possible. I even contacted the hotel and left a handwritten note on the lobby door. Despite all of this, the hotel refused to accommodate me, refused to refund me for the first night, and left me stranded late at night having to book another hotel out of pocket.||To make matters worse, when I raised this issue with the manager, the response was dismissive and unapologetic. They essentially hid behind "policy" rather than exercising any level of professionalism, empathy, or basic custome

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the service, beautiful room and charm of the property and surrounding town. All staff members were so helpful and kind. We originally reserved our room for two nights but were enjoying our stay so much we added an additional night. We highly recommend this charming property.
