My family and I stayed here while in town for a funeral. The rooms were nice overall, but there were a few disappointments. There were no drinking glasses in the bathroom, which made it inconvenient to rinse after brushing your teeth or get a quick drink of water. For the price you pay, we were also surprised that there is no complimentary breakfast. Everything comes at an additional cost — even the bottled water placed in the room and parking in the hotel lot. Unfortunately, this wasn’t our favorite hotel compared to others nearby. We visit family in the area often and have stayed at several surrounding hotels that offered a better overall experience.
Positive: "" Negative: Bathroom lighting too dim. Refrigerator very noisy.
I first checked in to a room with a strong mildew odor in the bathroom. Thankfully they were able to change the room for me immediately which I appreciated. Room was comfortable. Housekeeping is every other day, however on my 3rd day housekeeping only came in to leave a few towels. Bed wasn’t made, trash wasn’t taken out, etc. Otherwise fine for a short business trip. Nice that there’s a restaurant and bar. Front desk was always very friendly.
I stayed here Nov 29- Dec 3rd. I was in town for my mom's funeral. The staff was very courteous, kind and welcoming during my stay. They even made to where all the family was next to each other on the same floor. It was an amazing comforting stay despite the circumstances of us being there. My family and I can't thank you enough for great and genuine hospitality we received during our stay.
Check in took a while with three people in line waiting. Tried to use the app but couldn't get the digital key to load for a few minutes....then finally succeeded. Very sparsely stocked snack bar (actually never seen one at a HGI with so few items). Asked the front desk person about any more items to choose from and purchase but only received a shrug as a reply. But the morning staff person was super helpful and pleasant and more than made up for the previous night. Room was okay. Bed was comfortable. Dim lighting in the bathroom though. Room light bulbs didn't match - some yellow light, some whiter light. The cleaning staff did not replenish several needed items in the bathroom. The comments about the hotel upkeep are still accurate. Trim and molding pieces near the elevators
