Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis University Area

If you want a no-frills place to stay in Minneapolis, this is it. During our stay, the hotel was pretty crowded and the bar area was a bit loud. There was a small pool and hot tub which seemed to get plenty of use on a cold day. The hotel staff was helpful with places to eat and things nearby, but when our toilet backed up they offered no assistance or alternatives. There was also a broken toilet in public area, so perhaps they were without any maintenance help.

I loved this hotel. It felt like luxury without breaking the bank. Our beds were the only thing knocking this from 5 to 4 stars, since the bedding was disappointing and left us cold. A special thanks to the front desk worker Chloe; some of our friends interacted with her and thought she was wonderful and helpful. I saw a review saying there was not room for them to park which was worrying but there is a whole second level so this was not a problem, not sure if they saw that. TV was a good size also.

Room was clean, accept for some hair in the corner of the shower stall. Beds are older but comfortable. Small television but adequate. They seemed short staffed. Location is excellent for the university of Minnesota and they provide a free shuttle to go there. No free breakfast and prices for items were fairly high. Parking a car in the locked garage and super close to the motel was very nice just make sure you get your car ready before you check out our else you will be locked out of the motel and the gsrage. This was very frustrating when it happened to me. Very small pool decent hot tub but could of been hotter but clean. The overall appearance of the property was nice.

Fantastic hotel. Clean, modern rooms. Friendly staff. Convenient parking. Many great restaurants within walking distance. Close to the University of Minnesota and the University of St Thomas. A shout out to Chloe who was so kind helping us at checkin.
