Hillcrest Motel

Got stuck in VA for the night with our 3 kids and had to stay in this area due to business related issues. After paying $60+ for the room, I'm blown away that it's even legal to charge a $1. It's one of these hotels/motels that you would rather sleep in your car than stay in. Unfortunately, our children are with, making that impossible. I would rather not shower, than shower here. I wouldn't dare sleep with comforter on bed (never do at any hotels). The shower curtain is full of stains and crusty stuff. Huge gaping crack at top of door, allowing all the bugs outside to get inside. Killed a crawling spider in bed, big bug on floor.... Had a spider drop on me outside..... It's disgusting in every way. Not to mention the lobby has a rancid scent of moth balls.... ||Hope that i

Don't do it!! We should have looked at the room before we rented it. And it seemed like there were people living in some of the rooms, and a young woman hanging over the balcony hollering at a man working on his truck. Not a good place. Then we went inside... pulled back the top cover on the bed and found dried blood droplets on the top sheet!!!! We demanded our money back and left immediately!

Best stay I have had in awhile. I hope that the front desk couple is getting paid enough for all that they do. They are working hard making rooms too and are so sweet. Would definitely stay here again.

I have to a agree with previous reviews. It blows my mind that a hotel/motel like this can stay open. Not sure how any inspections are passed. Spider found crawling on bed, strange bug on floor...it's one of these hotels that regardless of the $60+ paid to stay, I'd much rather sleep in my car, but unfortunately that doesn't work with 3 kids. The only plusses I give our for the flat screen TV and cool AC on this very hot day, otherwise, it's dirty in every way, falling apart and needs a he'll of a lot more than TLC. If your considering staying here.... And are not desperate, DO NOT!

On a mini vacation there for we didnt spend to much time in room so it was nice for the money we paid. A little outdated but you get what you pay for, wasnt expecting it to be anything more. Bathroom however needs a little more attention to cleaning. All in all it was okay.
