High Desert Inn

This is a budget motel. Seriously. That said, the room was clean and beds comfortable. There is NO POTTY AREA FOR DOGS ON SITE. Pets are allowed, but good grass is about a block away. Hallway carpet is pretty stained and smelly. Depending on who else is staying there, it is either quiet or noisy. Continental breakfast is coffee, milk or juice and packed pastry; no fruit, nothing fresh. But, the location is great, right in the heart of Prineville. Easy walking to parks, shops, eating. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be great for you, but at about half the cost of the other motels, it’s maybe a decent deal of you are traveling on a budget.

Excellent service! Jamie Lynn was absolutely amazing and so helpful. Pet friendly. The rooms, hall, and building are mediocre at best. Unwashed sheets, broken lamp, broken curtains, weird smell. You get what you pay for. Good if you need a quick stop in a pinch. You hear just about everything all hours of the night. It's not horrible but it's not exceptional. Service was wonderful, I can't stress that enough.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at The High Desert Inn was so bad I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is not being properly maintained or managed. My room had broken fixtures and lamps, filthy walls, and bedding/drapes that were dark and dingy. The hallways were poorly lit and depressing. A bug even crawled across the bathroom floor. Noise was constant: a loud steakhouse next door, guests in the room beside me screaming and arguing the first night, and a dog left alone barking and howling for hours the next. I called the front desk and complained after 2 hours. The dog ended up tied to the back of a truck in the parking lot. The hotel claims to be pet-friendly, yet there was nowhere appropriate to walk a dog to go potty. The fro

Cob webs coming down the wall unpainted areas in the bathroom. This place is a peer dump, not to mention a horrible service from day shift misleading online pages, for some reason, they don't want to serve you breakfast homeless people live there dog's barking all night it says breakfast is at 6 AM on their webpage. They don't serve breakfast. Till seven, most of us are i'm traveling for work set and have Be gone by 6 this place is an absolute dump. Not worth the money.

First they advertised i would have a glat screen TV in the room with chanels to watch. There was NO TV. Secondly they rented a room out to me that had lots of damages to it. The top drawer on the TV stand was ripped off expossing staples or nails (whatever held it together), a whole was punched in the wall by previous rentors, the room was non smoking but smelt like cigs. Now for the icing on the cake NO FIRE ALARM anywhere in my room there is the mounting bracket but no alarm.. I have pictures of EVERYTHING. if you want an unknown std then this is the stay for you.
