Herreid Motel

When you understand, I was traveling through town on a -0° night and needed a place to stay and found a warm, Safe Haven. At this little motel. The rooms are very small but clean, warm and snug. There is no management on site. You have to call and they will send someone to meet you at the motel. Be prepared to pay in cash.

My name is Wendy and I am a travel CNA I got a contract in Selby SD and decided to stay in Herreid SD and travel back and forth to Selby. The hotel is an older hotel and along with everything else is located on Main Street. The hotel owner Kathy is very kind, generous and has great hospitality and runs a great business and is willing to help with whatever she can. The property manager Don is a very friendly kind and sweet guy who stays at the premises and will help you out if you have any problems. They do not put up with problem guest which is great it makes for an excellent place to call home. The town of Herreid has been great the people treat even outsiders with great hospitality. Exhausted from a long drive so we felt extremely fortunate to find this establishment. Very clean, comfortable basic room at a fair price. Needed somewhere warm, safe and dry to spend the night while traveling cross country and the Herreid Motel really delivered. Desk staff was fantastic! Would highly recommend.

This is a very old motel. It is clean. Beds and pillows are ok. It’s just old. There is not much space to put your bags down unless it’s on the floor. It is was nice to find a place to stay overnight and not have to drive an extra 30 miles.

This is it clean, cozy, and convenient place to get a room while traveling or visiting. There isn't very much as far as stores go in the town so I would recommend getting groceries before you get there, or be sure to get there before 6:00 p.m. when the grocery store closes. I had room number 12 which had a kitchenette and two individual bedrooms. The surprising thing is that it was only in the area of about $60 a night. The owner or caretaker that is on site is very friendly and was very helpful with anything that my party had a question with. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're going to be in the area before you do it extra 45 minute drive to the next town.
