Cool information Center about the earthquake that changed the landscape of the lake and even other parts of Montana and Yellowstone. Included a neat hike at the information Center with beautiful views
It provides a sobering experience... You will realize how small we are in face of Nature's forces. We were visiting from Brazil, our native land, and we have never seen anything quite like it. Nice and courteous personnel at the Center. Try to watch their 15-minute video.
They do a good job explaining how the lake was formed. They have lots of before and after photos. Great views of the lake too.
Don't think the pictures are really of the ranger station. When I was there the people that we spoke to we're very happy and helpful with all of our questions.
Earthquakes in Montana! Well, of course, geothermal activity in Yellowstone. Tragic to realize that campsites and cars are still at the bottom of Earthquake Lake. RIP to those who died.
