Head Hunters Inn

We stayed here for three nights while we were in Valdez. The building is a bit odd - the B&B occupies the top two floors, while the on bottom floor is Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant and a beauty salon. We would describe the place as being "different" - you had to take your shoes off before going upstairs so as not to get their carpet dirty. The rooms only had beds and a bathroom, and on the second floor was a living area with TV access and couches. There was also a kitchen, which brought along some confusion. Upon arrival, we were told all the guests had access to it, but the owner later told us it was for their use only. Huh??? The rooms were nice - our room (6) on the third floor was spacious. It doesn't look like much, in fact we almost missed it if not for Ernesto's Mexican restaurant which fills the ground floor. Our room was very large with three beds and was perfect for our family. It was much larger than a normal,hotel room so it was perfect. It was clean and functional but it was warm and muggy and we needed to have the fan on all the time. You do have to take your shoes off which wasn't a problem but it was on the top floor and that was a lot of luggage to carry up but a minor inconvenience. We never ate the free breakfast and didn't look like anyone else did because I never saw anyone there for breakfast. It served our purpose and I would stay there again providing I got the large room.

We spent three nights at this B&B while seeing the sites of Valdez. The staff was very friendly and the service and food in the restaurant was very good. Make sure you bring your house slippers because the managements requests that you not wear shoes on the carpet. The room consisted of a queen bed, dresser, nightstand and cable TV. The bathroom was attached and very clean with shampoo, conditioner and soap supplied. Also, there was a body lotion dispenser on the wall. Bring your own hair dryer. The window cover wasn't sufficient to stop the light from entering the room. The free WiFi worked very well. There is no designated parking for the B&B since it's on the floor above Ernesto's Mexican restaurant. It's not the Hilton, but it provides everything you need while you visit the

Terrible experience. The owner is a liar. I called and canceled within 48 hours and she still charged me. I called to ask why I was charged and she claimed I never called. In fact she was very rude over the phone and she even hung up on me. I would never consider staying here again and I would recommend to anyone considering it to think twice.

We were originally booked into the motel next door to this place. It was an awful place, so we went to the Mexican restaurant next door to regroup. Lo and behold, there was a B & B on the 2 floors above the restaurant. We met the owner, Sukie. She showed us around, had 1 room left available and we snatched that up. Spent 3 days there. Our room was lovely and comfortable. I would definitely go back.
