Hawi Sugar Plantation Inn

It’s also an easy walk into the charming town of Hawi, which makes the location even better. The main house is perfect for a large family gathering, offering plenty of space to spend time together while still having quiet spots to sneak away for some peaceful alone time. It feels both comfortable and welcoming. The ocean is also just a short drive away, making it easy to enjoy the stunning North Kohala coastline. And don’t forget the gourmet kitchen, perfect for cooking and gathering together. A wonderful place to stay, highly recommended. Looking forward to our next stay!

We visited the Hawi Sugar Plantation Inn for a week-long girls’ trip and it was fantastic! Shannon and Mark were wonderful accommodating hosts. The Inn is located on the north side of the island and walking distance to the cute downtown Hawi shopping area. It’s a peaceful location that feels like local Hawaii, away from resorts, yet close enough (driving distance) to additional restaurants and resorts when we wanted to get out for an evening of cocktails/dining, music, golf and beaches. It’s also a short drive to Pololū Valley with amazing views of the cliffs overlooking the ocean with a trail you can walk down. There are lots of nooks at the inn to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze, read a book, play cards, watch TV and cook a meal. We took a whale-watching excursion and spotted numerous

This place is absolutely amazing! It's a large home with every detail taken into consideration. You can reserve one room or the entire house. Inside includes a huge shared kitchen, TV, piano, multiple cozy reading nooks, and lots of games. The grounds are full of fun wildlife, including a variety of songbirds, beautiful chickens, cats, and geckos. Be sure to visit the pool, orchid house, and yoga studio too. Hawi town is a short walk from the Inn, where you'll find lovely shops and galleries, plus truly excellent coffee at the Hawi Coffee Company. The hosts of Hawi Sugar Plantation Inn are super accommodating, kind, and readily available for questions and suggestions of things to do on the island. Do it. Go there. And prepare to fall in love love with Hawi Sugar Plantation Inn.

this historic house is very charming with great amenities. there are several common spaces (including some cozy reading nooks), which allowed both privacy from other guests and opportunities to mingle. they have a full kitchen with all the appliances/supplies you need. there’s also an amazing pool. it’s walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the small town of hawi. lovely stay, we will definitely be coming back!

Unbelievable experience! What a special place with amazing owners. This is Old Hawaii - tropical breezes, comfortable rooms, lots of space to rest, relax and recharge...WITH all the modern amenities. LARGE kitchen if you want to make meals, store goods, or have a large family event. Perfect for one person or a large group - each suit has a private bath. Just a short walk to downtown Hawi that offers shopping and resturants, a local farmers market, and art studio's. Driving distance to local towns and popular desitnations on the Big Island. I highly recommend!
