Hampton Inn & Suites Southern Pines-Pinehurst

This is a very fine hotel, attractive and clean with lovely seasonal decorations. The queen suite that we used was spacious and comfortable. The indoor pool is warm and clean, very refreshing in the winter. The breakfast is satisfying with abundant hot and cold choices, functioning waffle makers, and fresh fruit. The staff keeps the coffee and hot water carafes filled 24/7. Most of all, the staff is the best to be found. Front desk people are friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff found my forgotten purse in the room and immediately the desk clerk called me to arrange for its return. Not only was it back in my hands quickly, it was missing nothing. All the cash, credit cards, electronics, were present and intact. This is the best place to stay in Southern Pines!

Positive: Staff at check in desk was friendly Negative: We did not have shampoo or conditioner - also, someone hung the hand soap in the shower instead of body wash. We asked twice for refills. Staff came up but only refilled shampoo and replaced hand soap with body wash, but not conditioner. Very frustrating

I’ve stayed at this location many times. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I typically arrive extremely late and without a reservation, but Miss Margaret at the front desk always greets me warmly and finds the best room and rate available. Recently, when I arrived there were several people waiting to get checked in and it was about 1 a.m. Despite her guests being a little grumpy and tired, Miss Margaret remained cheerful and gracious and got everyone taken care of as quickly as possible. The rooms are consistently clean and the breakfast is great too!

The hotel is part of a group of 3 adjacent modern hotels, in a nice quiet and open area, full of free parking space outside. There are several shopping centers in the area, most require a few minutes of driving, one is in walking distance from the hotel.||It’s a nice 4-floor building with 2 elevators in the middle, and a fair American breakfast downstairs. When we were there (April 2025) there were certain renovations in the building. One implication was that the indoor swimming pool was closed, which was a little disappointment. They referred us to the swimming pools of the adjacent hotels, but they are outside pools and the water there was freezing.||The service was really good and kind. This hotel was recently remodeled and they got rid of regular desks, replaced with this ridiculous round table. Perhaps I'm staying in the only king room with this table, but I doubt it. This is probably the 30th time I've stayed here for work in the last 10 years and I need a rectangular desk for it, not this 'sit around and play cards' table. Unless I can confirm there's a regular, conventional hotel desk in my room, I doubt I'll stay here anymore.
