Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers Beach/Sanibel Gateway

Super friendly staff, bright clean lobby & eating area. Breakfast was normal offerings. ||Pool deck has many issues. Ants all over deck, needs maintenance, lounge chairs were mildewed & pool towels were large hand towels. But water was clear! Not an inviting area to relax.

Positive: the very friendly front desk woman was super nice and welcoming. Negative: I wish they had a wine glass available, or at least a glass. They did have nice coffee mugs.

This hotel does NOT have a heated pool, which I truly do not understand why it wouldn't. I had researched and saw reviews mentioned heated pool, but when we arrived I was informed it is not heated. The pool is not full sun during the day so the water was very cold. I will not stay here again knowing there is another hotel so close to them who offers a heated pool. Staff was very nice, except for one front desk rep who hesitated on giving me a new comforter when I had spilled a half of cup of coffee on it, even when I apologized for it. Thankfully housekeeping was very gracious to take care of this problem, which I so appreciated. We enjoyed a hot breakfast during our stay. The unit is overall clean. This hotel has a lovely lobby and breakfast area. I was impressed the moment I walked in. Jesse greeted us at the front desk. We found him to be SO helpful throughout our stay. We needed a shower chair for my mom and we had a small issue with our toilet seat. Jesse asked the maintenance person, James, to help us with that. He came to our room right away. While he was working on the toilet seat. We mentioned that there weren't enough hooks in the bathroom and we were surprised that he said he could add one for us on the back of the door, in addition to the one that was already near the shower. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! From the customer service (Chavone IS top-notch!!!) to the cleanliness and breakfast. We drove 20 hours and upon getting to our original destination it was less than expected and I did not feel comfortable being there. So we were "homeless" for a couple hours until we walked into this Hampton Inn. Chavone QUICKLY saw our stress and accomodated us as if we had already had a reservation. We were allowed to "room hunt" and decide which layout worked best for our LARGE family of 7. This entire process could have been very very stressful for us but it was truly seamless because or Chavone. I WILL be returning to this hotel for sure!
