Hampton Inn Pittsburgh/ Wexford-Sewickley

We used the remote check-in, so we didn't interact with anyone on our way in. The hotel seems clean enough. There are signs everywhere saying they are "getting ready to refurbish", but no signs of work -- basically an admission they know the place is aging. |Rooms don't have microwaves. We got some lukewarm tea from the lobby and there was no way to heat it up. |The bed cover was ripped (but clean). We were awakened in the middle of the night by horrible noises from the heating unit; they continued for maybe 5 minutes, then suddenly stopped. |We came down for breakfast at the scheduled start time (6:00). They didn't even have coffee. The receptionist (red frizzy haired older woman) was incredibly rude and told us breakfast would start "shortly". We went to our room, packed up, an

This hotel was nice, with the hotel staff being very friendly every step of the way. The complimentary breakfast was very good in my opinion and offered a nice, wide selection from 6-10 which is a generous time frame. The beds are comfortable- I slept great! I always take my own pillow everywhere I go, but the hotel pillows are all very soft. I'm not sure if they have any selection you may ask for from the staff? If you like a firmer pillow I suggest putting a folded towel or two inside the pillowcase if you don't bring your own and like a firmer pillow. Bathroom was clean. Door on bathroom was a little bit hard to open and close but nothing I couldn't manage. I was on the 4th floor if that makes any difference (?) The carpeting is ok. There are TONS of outlets in the bathrooms and room.

Positive: Pillows !!!!! Negative: Why not a microwave in room ? Very disappointed. I bring food sometimes

Was looking for a hotel location outside Pittsburgh, easily accessible to the hospital. I have rewards and usually look for a Hampton Inn when traveling. I discussed with the front desk we would need a QUIET room due to needing a good night rest before heading to hospital at 5:30AM. Was told this wasn't an issue because of low occupancy on that night. Unfortunately a very noisy group was placed right next to us which had fun till 2-3 AM. The morning desk attendant pushed off our complaints, thought we needed to know their policy and police their hotel. Manager returned our call echoing the "policy" of her employee. I never received their handbook, I am not an employee. Worst Hampton Inn, Thanks for the quiet room as promised.

I can honestly say staff were very friendly,patient and accommodating as my sister and I had to unexpectedly extend our time in Pittsburgh due to the severe weather and a wreck bc of the blizzard... Needless to say, even though it seems there was an unusual amount of children at the time (I love kids, but sometimes they can get excited and loud!) this Hampton Inn did an awesome job of appropriately assigning guests in a way that I actually only was surprised downstairs by how many were staying! I was very impressed honestly... Would definitely stay again... Also only 12-15 minutes from Stadium and downtown.. 10 stars if I could!
