Hampton Inn Gallipolis

This hotel is a poor example of a Hampton Inn - we always stay at Hampton Inns when traveling and this was a bad experience. This hotel needs a total renovation - the room we stayed in had major issues - the chair ottoman fabric was torn, the lamp shades had holes in them, the tile around the toilet was broken and you can tell everything is dated by the color scheme. I will say though the staff was friendly and the free breakfast was good. I am a Hiltons Honors member and this was quite upsetting for the cost of the room it should have been much nicer.

Positive: Dakota was the best! (The shower was also very nice.) Not saying that Dakota was in the shower. That?s two separate things. Negative: The morning crew.

Tub barley drained. Sink stopper rusted so I could barely move it. Heater was loud and didn't work well. My room lock had issues recognizing the 6 keys I had to get in 2 weeks. No elevator to the 3rd floor for the first week. So I had to hike up 3 flights with all my stuff. Beds were ok. Room was clean. Really the only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast. The lady is on top of it and was always really nice. You can tell she takes her job to heart. Also there was a front desk guy that worked a couple nights when my key stopped working. Really nice & helpful. Otherwise it would be one star.

Quality of service 5 star. Lobby area greatly improved. Glad to see this hotel is under renovation. We have stayed here several times, last one during renovations, heard the rooms are getting great upgrades. The only things I could fault are the breakfast, only some days, also needs an upgrade and perhaps the funding to install room doors that have the hydraulics that don't door slam and wake the whole floor and still meet fire code (most hotels don't fund this, as it is not just the door hydraulics in most cases). Seems (quite understandable for this area) much is subjectivable to local commercial activity as far as rates and quality of breakfast. Nearby HUGE commercial activity seems a contributer, I guess. I would recommend this hotel even pre renovations.

Very nice. The room was nice. The pool and hot tub were nice for our sports team to enjoy after traveling.
