Hampton Inn Farmville

We had a great experience staying here. The service was impeccable, and our issues were tended to quickly. The room was decent! Almost perfect for what I'd want at a hotel, except for the following: -the room connecting to us had the two doors, but was very very thin and we could hear so much from our neighbors... -there was no lock plate on our door, so that was a bit sketch for safety -there was hair all over the bathroom shower, floor, and sink. But when we called they came to clean it pretty quickly. It wasn't perfectly clean, but was a big improvement. Overall, it was a busy weekend and was a great value for what was there. Would stay again.

I was aware the hotel was under renovation so expected some minor challenges or confusion, but when I checked in I was given keys to our room. I got to the room and it had never been cleaned. I returned to the desk and the same person who checked me in didn’t remember me from 5 minutes prior. I was interrupting her while she was eating at the desk and made me feel like I was really inconveniencing her. She did give me keys to another room which appeared to have been a conference room converted into a room. We couldn’t get the TV to work so I called the front desk, but no one answered so I returned to the desk. I was told there were new TV remotes and I’d just have to figure it out. Positive: I got a renovated room and hotel had a pool, the breakfast definitely was not Hampton Inn quality. Negative: They were in the middle of massive reconstruction projects. The hotel was a mess. The construction workers while not all of them but a few made us very uncomfortable, one even taking pictures of my 16 year old daughter while in her bathing suit.

The entire hotel has a fresh renovation so it’s very clean and modern, however the only staff member that is polite and friendly to the guests is the white guy that’s at the front desk in the morning. The rest of the staff (every one of them) is sassy, rude and unprofessional. I’m a diamond member and stay at a Hilton hotel every week for work. I received my bill this week and got charged $5.00 per day for parking (WTH). I called and one of the sassy “usual suspects” at the first desk told me that’s how it is. I called Hilton corporate and they put me through to the friendly guy I mentioned earlier and he took it off my bill. The staff here makes it easy not to ever come back.

I wonder if the car is still parked out in one of the three spots in front of the building with the flat tire a week later. It was there for the week we were there at least. If the picture was indicative of the actual place it would have been beautifully lit at night as it was there was no lights. The workers just ate the food drink the coffee that was for the gas so gas had to wait for starters. Slippery shower floors because there's no water pressure to keep water moving to wash the shampoo and soap from your beneath your feet. Didn't put up plastic while they were working sheetrock, jackhammering concrete, and dust everywhere. Pro the beds were the best beds that I slept in and any hotel ever and I'm pushing 60. Housekeeping is great. Pet friendly. For$200 a night breakfast ALONE shoul
