Cathy’s inn was absolutely wonderful to stay at. My boyfriend and I stayed for Christmas in the Mango Suite. It was perfect for the 2 of us. We had a kitchenette which was great to be able to have our own breakfasts and fridge for other food. Cathy’s property is beautiful and away from busy tourist areas which we prefer. To get into those areas was probably a 10-15 min drive. Cathy’s property had an abundance of animals which was one of the best parts! Between her adorable dogs and wild pigs with their babies, birds, cats, and the infamous roosters of the island, we enjoyed all of the surroundings and sounds.

We stayed with Bill at Hale Kua for 6 nights on an anniversary trip. We were in the newer Mango unit which is attached to the front of the house with its own private entrance. The unit was set up as a little apartment with a living room with stocked kitchenette, bathroom, and good-sized bedroom. The apartment was very clean and you could tell there was pride taken in the details. There wasn't breakfast provided, but the kitchenette had a coffeemaker, toaster, and dishes which worked for us. There was assigned parking which meant you always had a place to park. The room had beach towels, and books about the island on hiking, wild life, and sea life. Many homes on the island don't have air conditioning but it wasn't needed here as the mountain provided a cooler elevation and a nice br

This is the second time I’ve visited Kauai and second time I’ve stayed here. It’s the perfect location off the tourist path. It was so nice being in the jungle and waking up to pigs, a kitty, and horse. It was a great home base for seeing Poipu and the Canyon. Kathy is so sweet and welcoming. Would stay here again.

The cottage is a great stay! Very affordable and I love that it’s private. Yes- it rains a lot, but not for long usually. Yes- there are wild chickens that can make lots of noise and don’t be surprised to see a gecko or two. These things are to be expected: you are on Kaua’i and off the beaten path a bit. Still absolutely worth the stay- just bring earplugs if needed. Little kitchenette with hot plate and coffee pot was very helpful for saving money in the mornings. Full fridge, so lots of room for groceries! The two in one washer/dryer was a godsend- didn’t have to waste part of a day at a laundromat! The wrap around lanai was heavenly for coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening. Loved seeing the pigs and horse daily too! I could keep going on- but I think you get the po

I stayed here for a week in 2023 during a 3-week trip across different Hawaiian islands — and this was by far the best part of our stay. Bill adds a personal touch that makes the experience truly special. His property is a hidden gem, filled with Rudraksha, Bodhi trees, and an abundance of fruit trees. I still find myself thinking about this magical place.
