This relatively small campground is right off Route 128 on the west side of the road along the banks of the Colorado River. This is a first-come campground and costs $20.00 a night and is suitable for smaller type RVs/campers. At the north end of the camp, there is a standard unisex one-stall vault toilet that is maintained in a satisfactory manner. The entry to the campgrounds is at the north end (one-way entry). Each campsite has a picnic table and metal fire pit and most of the sites have beautiful natural shade trees.
A beautiful campground along the river! Vault toilets were clean with plenty of toilet paper. The sites are first-come, first-serve at $20 per night! There are picnic tables and fire pits scattered throughout the campground. Don't forget to pin your receipt to the wooden post so someone doesn't take your spot if you have to leave! I visited in November, but this would be even more of a paradise in the summer with the rope swing into the water.
Stayed at the last campsite in the loop (#11 I think). Beautiful views both directions and larger than the other campsites. No cell phone reception but that was a pleasant surprise.
Thrilled to get one of the last available camping spots. Arrived around 1 pm and we only saw two spots in all of the campgrounds in the canyon. Felt like someone saved the best for last. Enjoyed a beautiful view of the river and the river rafts, SUPs and small river boats. Plenty of space between campers, quiet and private. Big A+ for us traveling in our van. Will definitely come back.
One of the many self pay campgrounds alongside the river. $20/night unless you have a senior pass or access pass then it’s only $10/night. Sites seem small, not really accommodating for a big rig or a class A, but would be perfect for a van or a car camper or just for tent camping. Has a vault toilet.
