Gray Plaza Motel

Love how old-school this motel is. Very MCM. Initially they couldn't find our reservation, but we figured it out. The room was fine for the price, however some of the outlets were too loose to plug our phone chargers into (we found another thankfully).

This place should be condemned by the health department. There were cobwebs, dead crickets, spiders, something splattered on wall, blood stains on the sheets with Cigarette holes. We were the entertainment for the local residents sitting in lawn chairs in the parking lot peering through the ripped curtains.. Truly disgusting blight on the quaint town of West Frankfurt, Il.

I went to check on a homeless person who is temporarily living in this hotel. The place is rundown, microwave does not work so the person had to buy expensive fast food for all meals and will not replace it. There is no type of breakfast available. The room wreaked of cigarette smoke seeping over from neighboring rooms. The sidewalk and parking lot concrete is broken up making it a hazard to walk.

We stayed here in December 2023 before Christmas. Although the hotel is old and shows its age, the rooms were very clean, the bedding was clean, the room smelled clean, the hot water was good, and the bath tub and toilet were super clean. They allow pets which was nice and the price was very reasonable. For someone to have a place to lay their head down and sleep and leave the next day. It’s perfect. Very nice front desk. Burger place literally across the street was good

pulled in and met the owner, he was very friendly and a smile. We stayed in room 242, room was clean, fresh linens, comfy beds and pillows. microwave ,mini fridge, bathroom was clean, no coffee pot though, also the commode is a low boy for very small people. I am 6 foot 320 pounds. wifi is fast and I slept great, also had a local county sheriff patrol the parking lot so that's a bonus. No bed bugs or any bugs at all in our room. love these older retro motels. would stay again. also owner has an awesome garden I am sure he would share if asked. thanks.
