Golden Beach Campground

The sites are spacious and were well maintained. The park cycles through rehabilitation of sites. The beach is great. If you are looking to launch a boat, this launch is not very good but the local marina is great and near by.

the best place to go to swimming but need water shoes because mulse and going camping in a tent so will go all the time i go ever summer.

Camped here many times in the last forty years. I brought my family camping here every year for twenty years. The Adirondack Mountains rise out of Raquette Lake in a wild and beautiful section of the Adirondack High Peaks Region. Be aware - we had a black bear shred our garbage in front of us one morning. The swimming area is a large sand beach. The bathrooms and showers are old but serviceable.

I read the reviews and seriously wondered if we’d stayed at a different campground. We stayed at a site down the street from the “main” campground. It’s pit toilet only, which has no lock and would potentially be shared with 4 other sites…. But even worse, when we arrived it was covered in excrement. It’s a short drive to the showers and they are warm with decent water pressure, but could use a really good sweeping. There is no spicket/water access at the sites which can make things tricky. It’s very basic and was very muddy where we stayed with puddles and free standing water in areas worsening the bug situation. Great campground. Staff is awesome. Some sites are very small but overall a great place to camp. Beach is awesome
