Glidden House Bed & Breakfast

We spent two nights at Glidden House as we did a pre-season exploration of part of the Loess Hills Scenic By-way. It was a great location for us. Clarice and Gary are wonderful hosts and make you feel comfortable right away. They are interesting and welcoming people who open their home to the guests as much as you want. If you prefer a more private stay, they would honor that as well. There are two rooms upstairs, both with private baths. The rooms are comfortable with writing desks in a little nook overlooking the Grant Woodesque hills. Loved that. There is also an apartment style suite in the lower level which would be great for a family. Although it was too early to appreciate, the outdoor spaces are very pleasant. WOW! I have stayed at many B&B'S in different states around this great USA. Some have been great, others average. Glidden House B&B is at the tippy top of fabulous! The house is roomy, clean, and lovingly decorated in an eclectic, traditional farmhouse style with vintage flair. We had 2 rooms with private baths. The beds were sturdy and very comfortable. Lots of windows provided lovely views and natural light. They have individual central A/C & heat controls for each room, so you can set your environment to your own liking. The bathrooms are very nice and well stocked. Mine even had a nice hair dryer and curling iron. The towels were divine spa towels. I am going to buy some when I get back home. Clarise and Gary make you feel like long time friends. Beautiful home with an awesome view. My sister and I spent two days touring Loess Hills and made Glidden House our base. Claire is a wonderful cook. After the first breakfast I couldn't wait for the next morning and she didn't disappoint. Totally different b u t equally as delicious. I'm would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

The rolling hills of the Dennison area were picturesque with deer dancing on the landscaped canvas of gorgeous green prairie grasses skirted along the woods and the pond tucked inside the valleys. Inside, beautiful hand-made quilts, stained glass, antique trinkets and furniture decorate open areas and snuggly comfortable spots through the home. You won't find more pleasant hosts than Clarice and Gary to welcome you into their home, especially with their homemade cookies when you arrive, a delicious breakfast feast in the morning, and good conversaton. What an oasis!

We loved our 2 days with Gary and Clarise! What a charming couple who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Not only was the breakfast outstanding both mornings, but they were so friendly and playful with our 4 year old daughter who was craving attention after days in the car. Our room with it's "secret door" to our daughter's quarters was comfortable, tastefully furnished and decorated. ||||We had concerts to perform both nights we were there and needed to let ourselves in late which was no problem at all. The house is huge and inviting so we finally got a chance to spread our wings a bit.||||Finally, the view. Wow. Quite amazing. I imagine the spring and summer are breathtaking, but even on a chilly late winter day, it was outstanding. Took a 3 mile run up the road and
