Road was drivable with my civic type r but I had to drive really slow and careful. 4x4 would be ideal for the whole area or a side by side. Lots of obsidian glass. We didn’t get to hike the trail because it was getting dark but we got to check out the area for a bit.
It starts out steep and then is gentle and mild. Definitely take the AllTrails app if you have it as there are several side tracks.
